Requirements

Capable of providing complete and thorough history and physical patient examinations.
Able to perform invasive procedures as dictated by the physician’s subspecialty.
Requires standing, bending, stooping, lifting, hearing manual dexterity, and clear and concise verbal communications.
Must be capable of dictating in a clear and concise manner, and visual review of documents.
Requires listening to and assimilating information from conferences.
Ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
Possesses documented record of outstanding institutional and national service/collaboration and effective interactions with others.

Responsibilities

Serve on institutional and hospital committees and attend meetings.
Coordinate the stem cell transplant and cellular therapy infrastructure.
Organize local and national meetings.
Oversee areas of the Cord Blood Bank and the Cellular Therapy Laboratory.
Attend, participate, and lead Department teachings and continuing education conferences.
Practice clinical medicine in an exemplary manner.
Provide complete and thorough history and physical patient examinations.
Perform invasive procedures as dictated by the physician’s subspecialty.
Develop and maintain a clinical practice for patients referred to MD Anderson.
Provide physician staffing for the Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy and consulting service.
Manage patient-care provider teams.
Complete patient documentation for medical records within timeframes required by institutional policy.
Visually review for proper ICD-10 and CPT coding and approve all charge documents.
Correspond with physicians regarding patient care and treatment.
Keep abreast of current approaches in the management of patients through continuing education.
Request appropriate consultations for patients.
Act as a role model as a practitioner for faculty, fellows, residents, students, and staff.
Provide peer review for assessing the clinical practice of faculty within the Department.
Work within a context of very intense interpersonal relationships.
Actively engage in clinical research and scholarly activity.
Develop programs of clinical research and scholarly activities.
Seek appropriate funding mechanisms to support clinical research.
Present relative research findings through timely publications and presentations.
