About The Position

The candidate will be expected to provide inpatient/outpatient medical care services primarily at the University of Colorado Hospital. The candidate will also provide independent clinical services for patients at other affiliated hospital sites including the Denver VAMC. The candidate will be expected to provide clinical services for heart and lung transplantation. The candidate will also be expected to participate in the development of protocols for the care of cardiothoracic surgery patients. The candidate may also be asked to participate in marketing and networking opportunities with referring providers.

Requirements

  • Possess MD or DO degree
  • Possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Colorado
  • Board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
  • Heart and Lung transplant experience
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship and employment authorization for this position now or in the future.

  • 2 or more years with Heart and Lung Transplantation experience
  • Da Vinci Robotic Surgery experience

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient and outpatient surgeries.

  • Rounding, writing orders, and Hospital discharge
  • Patient assessment, patient education, care coordination, and disease management
  • Collaboration with colleagues, hospital and clinic staff
  • Provide clinical services at the Denver VAMC
  • Engage in scholarly activities and education of student resident and fellows within the University of Colorado system
