About The Position

The University of Alabama School of Leadership and Policy (SLP) is seeking to hire multiple renewable contract faculty members in Organizational Leadership, at the rank of assistant or associate professor, starting August 2027. These positions are teaching- and student-focused, aiming to develop leaders across various sectors. As a new school opening in fall 2027, the SLP offers a unique opportunity for faculty to contribute to building curriculum and programs from the ground up. Faculty will be responsible for classroom teaching, direct student support, and fostering relationships with external organizations. This includes career advising, mentoring, supervising internships, developing experiential learning, identifying capstone clients and internship sites, and connecting students with employers. Assignments will be determined by the department chair or dean based on school needs and faculty strengths. Research is not a requirement for these appointments and does not influence evaluation, reappointment, or promotion. Appointments are for a three-year term and are renewable based on documented performance, departmental need, and funding availability. Renewable contract faculty are eligible for promotion in rank. The university offers competitive salaries and relocation assistance.
