Mount Mary University (MMU) invites applicants to apply for a position as an Assistant Professor of Art Therapy beginning in August 2026. This full-time appointment requires a 12-credit per semester teaching load. Founded in 1913 by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mount Mary University lives out its mission today through providing an education that fosters the development of the whole person. In 2020, MMU became one of two colleges in Wisconsin to be federally designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. According to U.S. News and World Report, the university is also ranked as one of the two most diverse universities in the Midwest. We are a community of faculty who value relationships with our students and colleagues, and we are committed to a compassionate, inclusive, and effective undergraduate education deeply rooted in the principles of social justice. We seek a candidate with expertise in art therapy pedagogy and a passion for working with art therapy majors and minors, as well as first-year students and students outside of the major. The successful applicant will collaborate with art therapy adjunct faculty as well as work in concert with administrators, other faculty, and support staff to promote retention-boosting efforts. We are especially interested in candidates who can teach across the art therapy curriculum, including both introductory and upper-level courses required for majors and minors.
