About The Position
The Department of History in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in 20th Century U.S. history. We especially welcome candidates with expertise in the following fields: capitalism, political history, or political economy; the histories of medicine, science, technology, or the environment; race, ethnicity, or borderlands.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in History or equivalent or related field
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship.
- Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in capitalism, political history, or political economy.
- Expertise in the histories of medicine, science, technology, or the environment.
- Expertise in race, ethnicity, or borderlands.
Responsibilities
- Teach two courses per semester.
- Assist in the supervision of graduate students in US history.
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to service within the department and university.
