Assistant Production Supervisor - Weekend Shift
About The Position
The Assistant Production Supervisor will develop proficiency in the major responsibilities of a Production Supervisor and assist the Production Supervisor with overseeing manufacturing operations. The role covers a variety of production departments and helps lead, direct, and motivate Leads and support staff while meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Production objectives. The Assistant Supervisor will engage and empower work cells, coach Leads and employees, learn manufacturing processes and department-specific opportunities and challenges, and create and carry out an Individual Leadership Development Plan. A set schedule across departments provides opportunities to learn production workflows, scheduling, staffing, workload balance, and other supervisory responsibilities. The role may also fill in for supervisors in other departments when needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of successful experience as a Lead Person or in another leadership role.
- Leadership skills, including leading with service and humility and empowering team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and identify root causes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others and develop partnerships.
- Understanding of Marvin customer orders, labels, and applicable specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Supervisor in overseeing manufacturing operations.
- Help lead, direct, and motivate Leads and support staff to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Production objectives.
- Engage and empower work cells, and coach Leads and employees to improve performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Production.
- Learn manufacturing processes and understand production-area opportunities and challenges.
- Create and carry out an Individual Leadership Development Plan.
- Learn employee, safety, and quality expectations and demonstrate the ability to carry out related program and policy requirements.
- Rotate through departments to learn production workflows, scheduling, staffing, workload balance, and supervisory responsibilities.
- Fill in for current supervisors across other departments when needed.
