About The Position

This is a hands-on, learning-rich role at the heart of BiVACOR's production operations, where you will develop foundational skills in manufacturing coordination while supporting the Senior Production Supervisor in delivering the world's first Total Artificial Heart on schedule. As Assistant Production Expediter, you will help keep materials, work orders, and information flowing smoothly between the shop floor and the supply chain, building the organizational instincts and cross-functional awareness that define a successful production career. You'll bring a strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and a proactive mindset that contributes to a complex, low-volume precision manufacturing program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or supply chain environment; internship or co-op experience welcome
  • Basic familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar) or a willingness to learn; experience tracking work orders or inventory a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks while staying attentive to detail
  • Awareness of or curiosity about Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the importance of accurate documentation in a regulated environment
  • Clear and proactive communicator, comfortable asking questions, flagging concerns, and working across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic tracking and reporting
  • Positive, can-do attitude, highly detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and eager to grow within it

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in progress or completed in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking production work orders from release through completion, flagging potential bottlenecks to the Senior Production Supervisor
  • Support coordination with Procurement and Supply Chain by monitoring incoming material delivery status and communicating updates to the team
  • Help maintain and update the shop floor schedule daily, relaying priority changes to production technicians and assemblers under supervisor guidance
  • Serve as a liaison-in-training between Production, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing to help ensure materials, documentation, and resources are available when needed
  • Monitor work order traveler status, identify missing sign-offs or incomplete documentation, and escalate to the appropriate team member for resolution
  • Compile and distribute daily/weekly production status reports and escalation summaries for the Senior Production Supervisor
  • Assist with shipping and receiving coordination for production-related components, subassemblies, and vendor-managed inventory
