About The Position

The Assistant Produce Manager develops the skills, knowledge, and expertise needed to become a successful Produce Department Manager. The role supervises and ensures that guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained in the produce department. The Assistant Produce Manager assumes the Department Manager’s duties in their absence.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of produce operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from produce and floral department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the produce and floral department.
• Maintain desired inventory and supply levels.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help produce department hosts meet satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, conditioning, stocking, and guest service as needed to meet standards.
• Maintain department staffing and scheduling standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Assume the Department Manager’s duties in their absence.
