About The Position

The Assistant Produce Manager develops the skills, knowledge, and expertise needed to become a successful Produce Department Manager. The role supervises the produce department to ensure Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained. The Assistant Produce Manager assumes the Department Manager’s duties in their absence.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of produce operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from produce/floral department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the produce/floral department.
• Maintain desired inventory and supplies levels.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help produce department hosts meet satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, conditioning, stocking, and guest service as needed to achieve standards.
• Maintain the department’s staffing and scheduling standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
