About The Position

To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student, the professional growth of staff members, and foster positive community relations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership.
  • Valid Indiana Principal License.
  • At least five years of successful experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Experience in working with a diverse group of students in a high school setting.
  • Ability to work with students and build relationships.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively present information to the Principal, Superintendent, Board of Education, public groups, teachers, and/or administrators.
  • Ability to use technology effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and perform assigned tasks.
  • Interpret and implement Board policies, administrative rules and procedures.
  • Communicate and coordinate with appropriate personnel issues related to administration, personnel, instruction, school-community relations, operations, equipment and supplies.
  • Complete classroom visits, observations, and evaluate instruction.
  • Assume responsibility for supervision and student discipline.
  • Communicate student behavior and concerns with parents in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership for instruction and school improvement as directed by the Principal.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum and instructional programming.
  • Assist in the in-service orientation and training of teachers.
  • Participate in community activities when appropriate.
  • Focuses attention on students.
  • Assists Principal in the coordination and supervision of academic and athletic events.
  • Coordinates District Assessments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the High School Principal.
