About The Position

The Los Angeles Unified School District seeks an exceptional Assistant Principal, Adult Operations to serve as an integral member of the instructional leadership and leading students, staff, and the community at West Valley Occupational towards academic success and career advancements. West Valley Occupational Center is located in the West part of the San Fernando Valley and offers programs in English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) Exam Preparation, Adult Independent Study (AIS), and a variety of Career Technical Education Courses which lead to industry/state certification. West Valley Occupational Center is located at 6200 Winnetka Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA. 91367.

Requirements

  • A valid California Administrative Services Credential
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • A valid California Teaching Credential
  • Multicultural coursework (Candidates have one year to complete this requirement)
  • Five years of successful full-time public school district certificated service
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher
  • A minimum of two years of experience must include 100 hours of part-time or 65 days of full-time, adult education and/or career technical education experience per year, including one year as an adult education classroom teacher
  • In lieu of the adult school experience, a minimum of two years of service in a position for which an administrative or counseling credential would be required in California may be substituted
  • Must be in the appropriate LAUSD eligible pool for the position or currently serving in the class for which they are applying (or qualified applicants not in an eligible pool may be considered if fewer than five applicants from the eligible pool apply).
  • Must successfully complete the appropriate LAUSD Aspiring Administrator Program to be placed in the eligible pool.
