About The Position

The Assistant Plant Manager oversees the plant operation that processes raw materials into high-quality products. The role ensures equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair and reports directly to the Plant Manager. The position also supervises maintenance and production personnel and supports efficient, safe plant operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2–3 years of prior supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar operational environment.
At least 3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain an efficient and timely flow of all received raw materials.
Maintain hourly schedules from beginning to end.
Monitor individual performance to ensure procedures are followed to the highest standards.
Control vendor pricing by comparing price, value, service, and quality among competitors.
Plan stock orders to reduce the time and expense of emergency ordering.
Oversee the quality of finished products and determine reasons for any loss of quality.
Supervise the job performance of maintenance and production personnel, and oversee maintenance of equipment and buildings used to process raw materials.
Keep maintenance work and related records up to date.
Know and observe Company safety rules and regulations, treat safety as a top Company priority, and conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings.
Investigate accidents within the role’s jurisdiction and make recommendations to the Plant Safety Committee.
Perform other duties as assigned.
