About The Position

The Assistant Plant Manager provides strategic operational oversight for production operating facilities with a moderate presence in multiple regions or a moderate degree of complexity. The role oversees facilities and holds them accountable to standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance. It is based in Sterling, Colorado, and includes relocation assistance. The work schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least one year of directly related work experience.

Nice To Haves

• One year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine operations of the assigned area and ensure direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee, food and feed safety, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications.
• Partner with production supervisors to meet customer specifications and timelines.
• Administer a production budget for a department, process, or shift; execute purchase orders and ensure timely invoice payment.
• Develop operational plans and monitor routine operations for production processes across multiple departments, processes, and shifts.
• Develop, supervise, and coach direct reports, including coaching them on company core values and guiding principles.
• Make personnel decisions for direct reports related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
• Spend time performing the same tasks as employees on the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
