About The Position

The Assistant Plant Manager provides strategic operational oversight for production operating facilities with a moderate presence in multiple regions or a moderate degree of complexity. The role holds facilities accountable to standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance. The position is based in Sterling, Colorado, with relocation provided. The schedule is first-shift days, Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed. The expected salary is $80,000–$95,000, and the position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of directly related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine operations in the assigned area and ensure direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee, food and feed safety, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications.
• Partner with production supervisors to meet customer specifications and timelines.
• Administer a production budget for a department, process, or shift; execute purchase orders and ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Develop operational plans and monitor routine operations across production processes, multiple departments, processes, and shifts.
• Develop, supervise, and coach direct reports, including coaching on company core values and guiding principles for assigned facilities or region.
• Make personnel decisions for direct reports related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
• Perform the same tasks as team employees as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
