About The Position

The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for all Manufacturing, Packaging, Inventory, and distribution operations as well as manufacturing support functions. This role involves managing and coordinating plant operations to meet quality, cost, and volume objectives, while fostering a safe and high-quality environment. The position requires a strong aptitude for numbers and financial reports, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional departments.

Requirements

  • Prior management experience.
  • Discretion as there will likely be sensitive information and figures discussed.
  • Strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize.
  • Able to work with cross-functional departments within the organization.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize.
  • Assist team members when needed to accomplish team goals.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures that produce products that meet quality, cost, volume criteria, and objectives.
  • Suggest plans or processes that could minimize cost through effective utilization of employees, equipment, and materials.
  • Assure attainment of standards and production schedules.
  • Manage production problems and employee grievances, and refer unresolved grievances.
  • Foster an environment where safety and quality are high priorities.
  • Work closely with department heads to ensure proper raw and dry material are being used and inventory is correct.
  • Learn the operation of the facility to enhance knowledge and be able to train new employees when needed.
