About The Position

This position involves conducting medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist. The Assistant Physical Therapist will provide physical therapy interventions according to a plan of care established by a physical therapist, utilizing appropriate techniques for the patient population. Responsibilities include documenting treatment interventions and potentially coordinating the activities of physical therapy aides, students, and other support personnel. This role is on a PRN basis, meaning work is scheduled when full-time staff are on paid time off (PTO) and during periods of high patient census at UAB St. Vincent's Blount.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy Asst credentialed from the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
Document treatment interventions given.
May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
