About The Position

The Assistant Patient Care Manager assists the Patient Care Manager with clinical management and administrative coordination of designated patient care units or services, supporting the achievement of unit goals and objectives. The role serves as a resource for the unit and a representative for the Patient Care Manager. It typically includes supervising patient care staff and operations for an assigned shift and/or coordinating administrative functions. The Assistant Patient Care Manager helps ensure consistent implementation and monitoring of organizational policies and standards of care, and has both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The position provides timely information and feedback to the Patient Care Manager and requires knowledge and application of personnel policies and collective bargaining agreement requirements. The role may assume Patient Care Manager duties when delegated or during the manager’s absence, and coordinates patient care operations for an assigned shift. The position also facilitates staff orientation, training, development, coaching, and performance evaluation; monitors care processes and outcomes; supports unit planning and improvement activities; provides patient care as appropriate; and serves as a liaison to the Patient Care Manager. The position is based at Stanford Health Care. The schedule is listed as day shift, 10 hours. Stanford Health Care expects employees to follow its C-I-CARE patient-experience framework: anticipate patient needs, guide patients toward better outcomes, and coordinate care.
