The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary academic community committed to advancing research, education, and service in translating basic science research to the clinic. Key responsibilities will include conducting research and contributing to scholarship in gene regulation, teaching and mentoring medical and graduate students, collaborating on interdisciplinary initiatives within UMB and with external partners, and engaging in service activities that align with the university’s mission. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience. While all applicants are encouraged, priority will be given to individuals who have already been successful in obtaining research funding from the NIH.
