About The Position

The Chemistry Department at Montana Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor rank with expertise in one more of the following subfields: inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, computational chemistry, and/or analytical chemistry. Candidates must be prepared to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, conduct sponsored research, participate in departmental activities, and serve the profession. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program, preferentially in alignment with the university’s priorities in areas of energy, critical minerals, environmental restoration, or other national strategic needs.

Requirements

  • Hold an earned doctoral degree by the position start date of August 15, 2027 in chemistry, or a closely related field, with an emphasis in inorganic chemistry, computational chemistry, biochemistry, and/or analytical chemistry.
  • Ability to conduct novel, impactful research relevant to the areas of interest identified above.
  • Demonstrate an ability to utilize effective pedagogies to create impactful classroom experiences for our students.
  • Good interdisciplinary skills and the ability to interact productively with colleagues and students in a collaborative environment.
  • Earned doctoral degree in chemistry, or a closely related field by the position start date of August 16, 2027, with an emphasis in biochemistry, computational chemistry, analytical chemistry, and/or inorganic chemistry.
