About The Position
The Division of Film & Media Arts in the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University is seeking a top-notch production teacher to join a creative and productive faculty and student body located in one of the leading media markets in the nation. The ideal candidate is one who can effectively mentor student filmmakers at all levels, helping them identify and utilize their own creative voices through a variety of media forms. Teaching will cover introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate courses in film and media production, as well as specialized courses in the candidate's particular area(s) of expertise and interest.
Requirements
- MFA or equivalent is required.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Strong and broad skills in the technical aspects of filmmaking.
- Specialized expertise in at least one “craft” area (e.g., cinematography, sound, editing, etc.).
Nice To Haves
- Experience in short-form or long-form narrative production.
- Experience in production for social media.
Responsibilities
