The Nurse Practitioner Programs (including Family and Adult-Gerontology-Acute Care) are designed to prepare graduates to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care across diverse populations and clinical settings. The School of Nursing utilizes a flexible instructional model that integrates online learning, interactive technologies, and on-campus clinical and simulation experiences to support students across multiple geographic locations. This approach ensures accessibility while maintaining a strong emphasis on clinical competency, experiential learning, and academic excellence, in alignment with Barry University’s mission and commitment to inclusive education. The successful candidate will serve as a faculty member within the Nurse Practitioner Programs at the Barry University School of Nursing, with primary responsibilities in teaching, clinical education, and program development. This individual will support the preparation of advanced practice nurses through high-quality didactic and clinical instruction, student mentorship, and active participation in program advancement. Key responsibilities include: Teaching graduate-level courses within the Nurse Practitioner Programs (Family and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care) in online, hybrid, and/or on-campus formats. Providing academic advising and mentorship to Nurse Practitioner students. Guiding, supervising, and evaluating students in clinical practica and practice-focused projects. Participating in clinical site engagement and supporting student placement, as applicable. Engaging in scholarly and professional activities that support clinical excellence and evidence-based practice. Contributing to curriculum development, course design, and continuous program improvement to ensure alignment with accreditation standards. Collaborating with faculty and clinical partners to support interprofessional education and enhance student learning outcomes. Planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality instruction using technology-enhanced strategies and simulation-based teaching methods, as appropriate. Providing timely and constructive feedback to students while maintaining effective communication with students, colleagues, and university leadership through university-supported platforms. Supporting the mission and values of Barry University School of Nursing by fostering diversity, cultural sensitivity, and academic excellence in all teaching, clinical, and mentoring activities.
