About The Position

The Department of Psychology at Oklahoma City University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning in Fall 2027. While the area of specialty is open, candidates with expertise in adult mental health—particularly gerontology, substance use disorders, or rural mental health—are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants whose teaching, research, or clinical interests complement and enhance the existing areas of expertise within the department and contribute to the breadth and strength of the program. Primary responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in our PsyD program in Clinical Psychology, which achieved APA accreditation with contingency status, supervising graduate student research capstone projects, and providing clinical supervision. There may also be opportunities to contribute to the undergraduate psychology program. As a member of the faculty, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of scholarship and contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Strong commitment to the evidence-based practice of psychology
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching
  • Experience supporting graduate student development through research, clinical training, and/or professional supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
  • Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Oklahoma

Nice To Haves
