Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology
- Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure
- Commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and academic medicine
Nice To Haves
- Interest in research, quality improvement, or program development
- Experience teaching medical students, residents, or fellows
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient rheumatology care
- Maintain a predominantly outpatient practice at a single clinic location
- Participate in a limited inpatient consultative service
- Support the continued growth and development of the Lupus Center of Excellence
- Collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines to provide comprehensive patient-centered care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities
- Teach and supervise residents, and medical students
- Commitment to growing the Division of Rheumatology with eventual development of a Rheumatology fellowship training program
- Participate in conferences, lectures, and educational initiatives
- Mentor trainees in clinical and professional development
- Contribute to committee service at the Section, Department, School of Medicine, or institutional level.
- Participate in scholarly activity, research, and program development according to individual interests
