Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited institution
Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology
Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure
Commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and academic medicine

Experience teaching medical students, residents, or fellows

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive outpatient rheumatology care.
Maintain a predominantly outpatient practice at a single clinic location.
Participate in a limited inpatient consultative service.
Support the continued growth and development of the Lupus Center of Excellence.
Collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines to provide comprehensive patient-centered care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.
Teach and supervise residents and medical students.
Commitment to growing the Division of Rheumatology with eventual development of a Rheumatology fellowship training program.
Participate in conferences, lectures, and educational initiatives.
Mentor trainees in clinical and professional development.
Contribute to committee service at the Section, Department, School of Medicine, or institutional level.
Participate in scholarly activity, research, and program development according to individual interests.
