About The Position

BYU–Hawaii is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for its Accounting program within the Business and Government faculty unit. This is a full-time faculty position with a strong emphasis on teaching and student learning. Requirements

  • A master’s degree in accounting is required. Foreign equivalent degree from a nationally accredited institution is accepted.
  • Specialization in areas such as: accounting information systems, financial accounting, and/or accounting analytics.
  • Candidates must be academically, professionally, and intellectually prepared to excel in their discipline.

  • Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive clearance from the Church’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate accounting courses, typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters, in areas such as Financial accounting, accounting information systems, and accounting analytics.
  • Contribute to curriculum and program development.
  • Mentor students in their academic, spiritual, and professional growth.
  • Maintain an appropriate program of scholarly and professional development.
  • Participate actively in university and professional citizenship.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, alumni, employers, and other partners to strengthen student learning and career preparation.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $117K to $137K, depending on credentials (highest degree earned), rank and experience.
