About The Position

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas is seeking an Assistant or Associate Lecturer in Marketing starting in Fall 2026. This is a renewable, fixed-term faculty position with potential for additional summer teaching opportunities. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, collegial, and innovative individual with a passion for teaching and a proven track record of excellence in both in-person and online formats. The role requires qualifications to teach various courses, primarily in marketing, but also potentially in project management, management, and/or business ethics, depending on the applicant's background and interest. The institution is an upper- and masters-level university, part of the Texas A&M University System, focusing on junior- and senior-level baccalaureate degrees and master's degrees. It partners with community colleges and Fort Hood, serving a diverse student body including first-generation, non-traditional, and military-affiliated learners. COBA is AACSB accredited. The position is located in Killeen, TX, offering a variety of living options and proximity to major metropolitan areas.

Requirements

  • Possess a terminal degree (doctorate) in marketing or a closely-related discipline.
  • Have at least three (3) years of full-time teaching experience at the baccalaureate level or higher.
  • Be eligible for the AACSB “scholarly academic” or “professional academic” faculty classification.
  • Have a documented track record of successfully teaching the primary courses needed for this position (marketing, services marketing, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Additional academic and/or professional qualifications to support teaching in secondary or tertiary disciplines.
  • At least two (2) additional years of full-time teaching experience, including graduate courses.
  • Industry experience, including ongoing engagement.
  • Program development and student recruiting experience.
  • Have a documented track record of successfully teaching courses in some of the secondary instructional areas listed above (project management, business ethics, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction for four or five courses per term, primarily at the undergraduate level and in a variety of course delivery formats (face-to-face, online, or hybrid).
  • Primarily support the BBA Marketing program by providing instruction in principles of marketing, services marketing, and promotional strategy.
  • Support department needs by teaching in one or more secondary areas such as project management, business ethics, and general management.
  • Engage in scholarly and/or professional activities sufficient to maintain “scholarly academic” or “professional academic” status per AACSB faculty classifications (e.g., producing scholarship, maintaining a recognized professional certification, attending academic or trade conferences, engaging in consulting or other industry-related activities, and/or completing other relevant professional development activities).
  • Service expectations will be limited primarily to those events, committees, or initiatives that support and promote the Management & Marketing Department and the College of Business Administration (e.g., recruiting events, department/college meetings, accreditation-related tasks, focus groups with industry partners, etc.).
  • Propose and deliver new courses, often on a trial basis, to explore new content areas that add value to student career aspirations and to our academic programs.
