About The Position

Northeastern University, a global research university, seeks a Full-time (52-week appointment) non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor for the Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences. This campus-based position emphasizes integrated skills-focused lab instruction, including simulation and interprofessional education, and is not affiliated with an external clinical site. The role involves overseeing educational aspects of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree programs’ pharmacy practice labs, developing student skills in the PharmD curriculum, incorporating innovative pedagogical methods, providing authentic assessment and feedback, and collaborating on interprofessional education opportunities. The faculty member will also participate in the oversight of laboratory operations, provide didactic teaching, engage in service to the department and school, and participate in scholarship of teaching and learning. All faculty are expected to exemplify a collegial, interprofessional academic community committed to Northeastern University’s core values.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in Pharmacy or related field
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in Massachusetts by appointment start date
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to supporting students

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in high-fidelity simulation, interprofessional, and experiential educational models
  • Additional expertise in artificial intelligence, data analytics, operations management including course coordination/teaching within lab, and pharmacy leadership
  • For Associate level appointment: a minimum of 5 years of academic or related experience with evidence of leadership and scholarly output.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee educational aspects of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree programs’ pharmacy practice labs.
  • Develop the skills of pharmacy students in the PharmD curriculum in accordance with accreditation standards.
  • Incorporate innovative pedagogical methods of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and provide authentic assessment and feedback.
  • Collaborate on and facilitate interprofessional education opportunities within the Bouvé College of Health Sciences, Northeastern University, and surrounding Boston-area institutions.
  • Participate in the oversight of the operational aspects of the laboratory.
  • Provide didactic teaching.
  • Participate in service to the department and school.
  • Engage in scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Exemplify a collegial, interprofessional academic community characterized by communication, transparency, and commitment to Northeastern University’s core values.
