About The Position

The Assistant Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machines in the designated department. The role runs materials through machines according to company specifications, uses the correct materials to meet customer requirements, completes accurate inventory entries, and inspects products to maintain quality. The employee is responsible for meeting quality, efficiency, and safety standards, reporting machine maintenance concerns, and assisting with two-person feeds as needed. Additional duties may be assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be applied to efficient operation.
• Ability to read and interpret product layouts and production specifications.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk or hear, and occasionally reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all inventory entries are complete and accurate.
• Inspect products and maintain product quality.
• Meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Follow company safety policies and report concerns related to required machine maintenance.
• Assist in two-person feeds as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
