About The Position

The Assistant Operator - Paper Bag Machine helps operate paper bag manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality control. The Assistant Operator works with the team to meet production targets and supports machine operation, production processes, packaging, labeling, and material handling.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of machine operation principles.
• General knowledge of production processes and quality control procedures.
• Ability to read and understand English-language instructions and safety guidelines.
• Basic mathematics skills for production calculations and measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with packaging and labeling procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Prior manufacturing experience, particularly in paper bag production.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Experience operating a forklift truck.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
• 1–2 years of experience in a production line environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and operating paper bag machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor the production line and identify and address operational issues.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment, using hand tools as needed.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout production and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Assist with packaging and labeling finished products and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow proper housekeeping procedures.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Use a forklift truck for material handling and warehousing tasks as required.
• Communicate production status and issues to supervisors and colleagues.
• Follow safety protocols for machine operation and material handling.
