About The Position

WE Business Management, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for their Garden City Yard. This role supports daily operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation service. The Assistant Operations Manager works closely with the Terminal Manager, dispatchers, drivers, attendants, safety, and maintenance teams to maintain smooth operations and foster a positive, accountable team culture.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using technology, reports, and operational systems.

Nice To Haves

• Three (3) years of transportation, operations, logistics, or related experience preferred.
• One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT, Article 19-A, school bus operations, and safety regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily route coverage, staffing, dispatch, and service execution.
• Provide clear communication and support to drivers, attendants, dispatchers, and yard employees.
• Help ensure employees understand their daily assignments, expectations, and responsibilities.
• Assist with safety coaching, compliance follow-up, incident response, and performance feedback.
• Support employee onboarding, training, attendance management, and corrective coaching as needed.
• Review operational reports and data for accuracy, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Promote a positive workplace culture focused on safety, teamwork, accountability, and service.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and company events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
