About The Position

The Assistant Operations Manager at Flagship Facility Services will be responsible for assisting in overseeing janitorial operations conducted at the location. Duties will vary from assisting with client inquiries, managing employees, assuring scheduled tasks and projects are completed up to standard, provide follow up with Quality Control inspections, and training.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in Janitorial Operations

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, tablet and cellphone applications.
  • Able to work independently or with little or no supervision.
  • Five years’ experience in Managing or Supervising campus style contracts, preferably in the Janitorial/Facilities field.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment (cleaning products, tools, and ladders) and trash and the ability to safely use equipment provided.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of a second language is preferred but not mandatory
  • Bachelor's degree Operations Management or Business Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper staffing to meet client and Flagship needs.
  • Ensure all supplies, materials, and work performed meet the quality & budgetary standards set by the client and Flagship
  • Help maintain the operating condition and security of all tools and equipment owned, leased, or rented by the company and under his/her control.
  • Maintain accurate and complete inventory of company materials, supplies, equipment and tools under his/her control and necessary for efficient job related operations.
  • Conduct Quality Control inspections as necessary to ensure company and City quality standards are being met.
  • Evaluate the performance of those employees reporting to him/her based on the standards of performance included in the position description, and discuss the evaluation with the employee.
  • Conducts regular training sessions for employees on job procedures and safety.
  • Find and define problems, resolve issues, and use these in making appropriate recommendations to management, staff, and/or customer contact to exercise continuous quality improvement and to exceed customer expectations.
  • Participates in company and customer training ensuring effective communication and distribution of information to managers, supervisors, customers and employees.
  • When requested, meet with the customer, in person or by telephone to ensure the customer's needs are being met.
  • Help oversee all janitorial operations, and fill in for Night Operations manager admirably in their absence.
  • Managing supervisors who oversee the front line, floor crews, outlying staff members and Level 2 employees
  • On the job training for staff/employees to job-specific tasks.
  • Play a role in helping manage the safety program
  • Oversee that scheduled project work/detail work is being performed on time and up to standard
  • Works well under pressure and can adapt to an ever changing work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
