About The Position

Performs basic clerical duties including but not limited to the following. Houston Community College (HCC) is composed of 14 Centers of Excellence and numerous satellite centers that serve the diverse communities in the Greater Houston area by preparing individuals to live and work in an increasingly international and technological society. HCC is one of the country’s largest singly-accredited, open-admission, community colleges offering associate degrees, certificates, workforce training, and lifelong learning opportunities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year experience in an office environment preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver License

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone, handling multiple lines.
  • Handle routine office inquiries.
  • Assist with on-campus registration, if applicable.
  • Operate office equipment, maintain inventory of office supplies, order maintenance/repairs for office equipment.
  • Refer students to appropriate person or department.
  • File or bind correspondence and other records/documents.
  • Type correspondence and other documents from notes, copies, or rough drafts.
  • Scan and process departmental documents such as surveys or office documents.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Provide support to other areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
