About The Position

The assistant office coordinator (AOC) student employee is responsible for assisting the Residential Life office coordinator in the management of the front desk. Tasks include coordinating staff schedules and all pertinent student services delivered at the desk, as well as assisting staff in maintaining accountability of lead office assistants and other desk staff.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
  • Good academic and financial standing with the University
  • Minimum of two years’ related residential life experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient email skills
  • Proficient in use of web portals and software management tools
  • Ability to respond to campus emergencies within 20 minutes

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
  • Oversees all front desk scheduling; assists with management of shift changes, absences, and timecards
  • Assists with answering phone calls in the main Residential Life office
  • Assists the main Residential Life office with oversight of all desk areas and desk staff
  • Assists office coordinators with management of building rosters, inventory, emotional support animals (ESAs), and room changes
  • Ensures students’ lockouts, housing signups, meal plan issues, and maintenance requests are handled properly
  • Assists in training and interview processes for lead office assistants and office assistants
  • Understands, supports, and enforces University policies/procedures and provides general information/effectively responds to student and visitor questions/concerns
  • Attends residential life meetings and assists in leading desk staff meetings
  • Collaborates with relevant departments in event of personal or operational emergency response
  • Assists office coordinators in the mediation of residential relational issues
  • Refers students experiencing emotional, academic, or other hardships to appropriate resources
  • Reports and assists with responding to policy violations
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of all major residential life events, such as check-in and check-out and Dark Carnival
