About The Position

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is seeking a full-time Assistant Office Coordinator to join their rehabilitation team at the outpatient rehabilitation clinic in North Riverside, IL. This role serves as the liaison between MOR and patients, facilitating communication with patients, clinicians, physicians, insurance companies, the billing department, and work comp adjusters. The ideal candidate will provide professional, friendly, and compassionate service to all patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required
  • Strong background in providing excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Work well in a team atmosphere
  • Have a strong sense of leadership skills
  • Enjoy interacting with people

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and coverage preferred
  • Prior medical experience, preferably in a Physical Therapy clinic

Responsibilities

  • Multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Scheduling and registration of patients
  • Collecting copayments, self pay and DME payments
  • Serve as the liaison between insurance companies, patients, clinical staff and billing
  • Maintain patient confidentiality with regard to medical records per company policies and procedures and assure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
  • Communicate well in a professional setting
  • Support the Office Coordinator in sharing daily function responsibilities, communicating any questions, changes or updates
  • Obtain pre-approval and schedule Function Capacity Evaluations and verify insurance
  • Respond to patient inquiries and needs in a polite and timely manner
  • Effectively use and maintain office equipment
  • Perform administrative duties/special projects as assigned
