About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, a joint venture with Select Medical, has an opening for an Assistant Residential Nurse Manager (RN) at their Neuro Transitional Rehab Center in Dallas, TX. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Assistant Residential Manager is a crucial member of the leadership team, dedicated to providing high-quality rehabilitation in a home-like setting. Requirements

  • Valid local state RN License required
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
  • Valid local state Driver's License in good standing required
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate and problem solve effectively required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • CRRN preferred
  • Knowledge of staffing patterns/ratios preferred
  • Two years of supervisory experience in assisted living or rehabilitation environment preferred
  • Experience with brain injury population preferred

Responsibilities

  • Works in conjunction with the Rehab Residential Manager to ensure patients receive the highest quality care.
  • Assists the Manager with operational duties, both administrative and clinical.
  • Provides direct patient care and medical management coordination in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and treatment model.
  • Assists the Residential Manager with ensuring the residential facility operates in compliance with HHSC ALF Licensure, CARF, and other regulatory/accreditation organizations, including assisting with creating procedures for adherence.
  • Manages medical documentation, ensuring completeness, timeliness, and accuracy. Conducts weekly MAR audits, verifies medication administration records, and inputs orders into EHR.
  • Addresses patient direct care and PRN medical issues to ensure continued patient medical stability.
  • Communicates with On Call and/or physicians/office nurse as needed, ensuring timely communication of pertinent information, including specific concerns regarding patient safety or health, to the treatment team. Ensures residential communication books are up to date.
  • Responsible for emergency drills, including tracking, requesting, ensuring completion, and issuing feedback. Responds to emergency situations and completes required documentation.
  • Assists the Residential Manager with the oversight of clinical and regulatory compliance orientation, training, supervision, and ongoing education and competency assessments of residential direct care staff across delivery sites and in the community.
  • Participates in required meetings as needed, including patient staffing, family conferences, admissions, EOC, residential meetings, and other meetings.
  • Identifies, investigates, and problem-solves incident report issues as assigned.
  • Ensures adequate medical supplies are in stock, following up with inventory and quality of supplies.
  • Participates in on-call rotation to provide support to staff after hours and on weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
