About The Position

Riley Children's Health, Indiana's largest and most advanced pediatric healthcare system, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to join their exceptional leadership team in Indianapolis. This role supports the Pre Post Care and MRI units and enhances the operations of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The core schedule is day shift, with an expectation for off-shift rounding at least once per week. The Pre Post Care Unit (PPCU) is a 42-bed unit supporting 16 ORs, 2 Cath labs, and 2 IRs, averaging 40-60 patients per day with 14-22 nurses. The MRI is a 7-bed unit supporting 2 general anesthesia scanners, averaging 10-15 patients per day.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of Ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the unit Manager to develop and implement action plans focused on quality and safety improvements, care affordability, and enhancing patient and team member experiences.
  • Lead the execution of these action plans and systematically evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Contribute as a member of the interprofessional team, fostering an environment where the team is motivated to achieve exceptional patient outcomes and organizational excellence.
  • Advocate for and promote evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards to advance nursing practice.
  • Onboard and train new team members.
  • Participate as a member of the leadership team for a 24/7 operational unit, which includes responsibilities on weekends and holidays.
