In keeping with the Dignity Health care philosophy, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) functions collaboratively and uses independent judgment to provide high quality care by assuring appropriate staffing on a shift basis or more as indicated by patient acuity and census. Is accountable for unit operations, supervision, staff development, evaluation, quality improvement, chart audits, patient care delivery and clinical outcomes on assigned shifts. Is responsible for providing clinical nursing leadership to unit staff and may provide direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing
  • 3 years of critical care experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience in related unit and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Registered Nurse: Current CA RN license
  • Basic Life Support - CPR - BLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates effective technical nursing skills as documented in unit skills checklists.
  • Prepares for and directs patient care assignments based on acuity and competency of personnel.
  • Ensures screening, evaluation, treatment of patients results in appropriate service delivery, positive clinical outcomes.
  • Participates in hiring, training, coaching and termination of staff, as assigned by Director.
  • Effectively supervises, orients, trains and evaluates staff ensuring effective staff performance and high standards of care.
  • Identifies ongoing training needs of staff, plans annual in-services, classes and training.
