About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager is accountable for supporting standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports activities at the service, nursing practice, and institutional level, and contributes to goal achievement through personal action and the facilitation of others. They participate in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to the promotion of nursing┐s visibility and future. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service. They also participate in the management of human resources, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and the monitoring of patient outcomes. The Assistant Nurse Manager may have responsibilities at the unit, program or service level and may assume an expanded role as assigned by the Nurse Manager. The Assistant Nurse Manager role at AIR is a dynamic leadership position that works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team across multiple sites. While the focus for this role is on the needs of our Rheumatology and Infusion operations, the Assistant Nurse Manager will also provide essential oversight and assistance for our Allergy and Immunology operations. Key responsibilities include leading patient and staff scheduling to optimize workflows and enhance the patient experience, empowering staff and patients through education and orientation, championing safety and process improvement initiatives across all areas, aiding in the strategic planning for the evolving needs of the department, and ensuring growth and excellence in Rheumatology and Infusion services.
