About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager directs and supervises nursing care functions and activities for the purpose of ensuring the competent delivery of quality patient care. He/she implements, educates and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, standards and regulations for personnel, patients, medical staff, and the public. The Assistant Nurse Manager’s primary role is to take charge of nursing personnel; however, they may take patient assignments whenever business or operational needs dictate, in order to deliver high quality patient care.

Requirements

• Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
• Minimum two years as a staff nurse
• Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification
• ACLS (AHA) required based on assigned Unit
• Basic Computer Skills.

• BSN
• previous charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to assume responsibilities
• Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for information communicated at meetings.
• Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
• Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Adheres to the following environmental care standards.
• Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
