About The Position

The Queen’s Journal is an entirely student-run newspaper at Queen’s University. The paper was founded in 1873 and has been continually published ever since. The Journal currently publishes a bi-weekly print edition and regular online content throughout the year. A writing sample must be e-mailed to [email protected] at the time of your application submission to supplement your application. Please include your name and the position title in the file's name.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the News Editor to generate story ideas for the News section
  • Write at least two stories per issue for News
  • Collaborate with the other members of the News section to help fact-check each story
  • Attend and cover AMS Assembly, Board of Directors, and Senate meetings
  • Respect and adhere to all company policies, procedures and ethical standards
  • Maintain timely communication with your direct supervisor
  • Attend and fully participate in all in person and virtual meetings
  • Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and attentively
  • Strive to foster a warm, comfortable and respectful atmosphere for all
  • Always serve as a representative of the AMS and its mission statement
  • Complete other job duties as assigned
