About The Position

KCRA 3, a Hearst Television station and the news leader in Sacramento, is seeking a News Video Editor. This role requires a candidate with a keen eye for compelling visuals and a passion for integrating video, sound, and storytelling. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, consistently representing the station with high journalistic standards and professionalism. The position reports to the News Operations Manager and is an IBEW Union position.

Requirements

2+ years of professional video editing experience
Proficiency with editing software such as Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
Must be able to work varied shifts including mornings, weekends and holidays
Exhibit unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
Can handle the pressure of time-sensitive newscast production
Related military experience will be considered

Nice To Haves

Bilingual experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Edit a range of video elements for newscasts on tight deadlines
Collaborate with producers, reporters, photographers, assignment editors and managers to produce high-quality content
Coordinate incoming video elements from crews in the field
Ensure storage and organization of media files
Execute our standard of excellence for all edited material
Produce and publish content for online platforms
Participate in special projects as assigned by news managers
