About The Position

The Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will support the coaching efforts during competitive soccer matches and attend practices and workouts to assist with the training and preparation of student athletes for competition. This role also involves assisting with the recruitment of highly skilled players, acquiring soccer equipment, ensuring departmental compliance with NCAA guidelines, and supporting public relations initiatives. Additionally, the coach will assist in monitoring the academic progress of student athletes and provide counseling and advisement services.

Requirements

  • Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year experience playing and/or coaching soccer at the NCAA Division I level.
  • Understanding of recruitment procedures and the technical fundamentals and principles of soccer required.
  • Strong writing, organizational and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coaching efforts during competitive soccer matches.
  • Attend practices and workouts to assist with the training and preparation of student athletes for competition.
  • Assist with the recruitment of highly skilled players and support the search and evaluation process for all prospective student athletes.
  • Provide assistance in acquiring soccer equipment and ensuring departmental compliance with NCAA guidelines.
  • Support the public relations initiatives of the department while maintaining positive relationships with alumni, students and parents. Encourage community involvement and promotes University pride.
  • Assist in monitoring the academic progress of student athletes and provides counseling and advisement services to students when necessary.
