About The Position

Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. This role assists in developing a Division I competitive Men's Soccer program by teaching student-athletes the sport, evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes, and supporting the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach provides leadership and integrity, managing aspects of recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, and related booster clubs. The position requires representing the University, Department, and sport with integrity both on and off the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least two years of previous soccer experience as a collegiate coach and/or collegiate student-athlete.
  • Experience administering Division I NCAA rules.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to assist with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment.
  • Ability to implement policies and guidelines for all Men's Soccer personnel and student-athletes.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Child Abuse Certifications.
  • Cash Handling.
  • DMV Check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing a Division I competitive Men's Soccer program.
  • Teach student-athletes the sport of Men's Soccer.
  • Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes for Temple University.
  • Support the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program.
  • Create, plan, organize, motivate, communicate, and control aspects related to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, and related booster clubs.
  • Conduct themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department, and the sport both on and off the field of competition.
  • Administer Division I NCAA rules.
  • Assist with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment.
  • Implement policies and guidelines for all Men's Soccer personnel and student-athletes.
  • Handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comply with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
