About The Position

The Assistant Meat Manager supports and manages daily Meat Department operations in a fast-paced retail environment, contributing to sales, profitability, operational readiness, and customer satisfaction. The role requires consistent execution of company standards for product freshness, food safety, sanitation, merchandising, and service. It involves planning production, managing inventory and department expenses, and scheduling, training, coaching, and overseeing associates. The position also requires working in cooler and freezer environments and handling product and department equipment according to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Meat Department operations to meet service, quality, and financial expectations.
• Maintain a professional, customer-focused environment and respond to customer inquiries and special orders.
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities, including preparation, packaging, stocking, and merchandising.
• Ensure displays are stocked, rotated, labeled, and maintained to company standards.
• Implement promotional and seasonal programs as scheduled.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature, and regulatory requirements.
• Review production results and adjust activities to support yield and profitability goals.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, shrink, reclamation, and departmental expenses.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, including preparation rooms, coolers, freezers, display cases, and equipment.
• Schedule, train, coach, and oversee associates to ensure coverage and performance expectations.
• Complete and maintain required documentation, including logs, reports, and audits.
