About The Position

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for membership sales and overseeing gym operations, including the front desk, sales, and kids club. The role supports the General Manager and leads production at the gym to help achieve financial budgets. The Assistant General Manager models company values and culture while helping provide a friendly, clean, safe, and engaging environment for members, team members, and guests. Gold’s Gym is seeking individuals who prioritize cleanliness and sanitation and are interested in health, wellness, and fitness.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 3 years of professional experience.
• Strong customer service orientation with proven results.
• Ability to direct sales through company-required outreach programs.
• Understanding of performance metrics, including P&L, revenue, budgeting, inventory, payroll, cost controls, and facilities maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, an open and participative leadership style, and a drive for excellence.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred.
• Fitness industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, manage, and lead sales team members to ensure they consistently meet expectations and goals.
• Hire, train, and develop sales, kids club, and housekeeping employees.
• Maintain an acceptable level of personal sales production.
• Manage gym operations effectively, including gym-controllable inventory and assets.
• Support management with membership cancellations, follow established procedures to improve member retention, and ensure member concerns are addressed promptly.
• Manage the member feedback process.
• Assist the General Manager with Medallia to ensure member concerns are addressed promptly.
• Assist the General Manager with bi-weekly payroll, ensuring missed punches are corrected and submitted on time.
• Communicate and follow cash management procedures.
