About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience store operations and may act as manager when the Store Manager is away. The role combines customer service, team leadership, cash handling, inventory and merchandising, scheduling, and store upkeep. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays, with work primarily on second or third shifts. The position is full-time and pays $16.00 per hour; a $1,000 sign-on bonus is paid after six months in the position. Actual starting pay may vary based on relevant experience, skills, and hired shift.

Requirements

Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
Valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Ability and willingness to clean restrooms, take out trash, and maintain outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Proficient in English with basic math skills.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers promptly, accurately, and courteously.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store performance.
Act as manager when the Store Manager is away.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure coverage.
Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
