About The Position

StorageMart is seeking a motivated Assistant Store Manager to join their growing team. The role involves supporting daily operations, customer engagement, and overall store success, adhering to the company's core values of Easy, Clean, and Service. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in achieving sales goals and business growth, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the facility. As an Assistant Site/Store Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the overall success of the facility through customer satisfaction, facility appeal, and sales. This includes leasing units, selling products, following up on leads, preparing leases, collecting payments, and ensuring the appearance and maintenance of the store.

Requirements

  • Retail, sales, or customer service preferred (training provided!)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Comfortable performing light maintenance and outdoor work
  • Basic computer skills (email, data entry, and account management)
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience (including but not limited to hospitality, retail, sales, casual dining, customer service). An associate’s degree or 2 years of college may be substituted for the experience requirement.
  • Must be able to read and write in English (or French for Quebec province). Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to navigate a computer with ease. Familiarity with spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel) and word processing software (e.g. Word) in addition to databases is a requirement. Knowledge of basic computer terminology is required (e.g. mouse, tab, worksheet, field, etc.)
  • Must be able to get to and from work reliably.
  • Must be willing to work any day of the week (Mondays to Sundays) as well as holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to have access to a fully licensed vehicle during work hours. If required to drive during the day, must have a current, valid driver’s license, current applicable insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Travel between locations/work various locations as the business requires

Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in daily operations, sales goals, and business growth
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Open and close the office and perform light property maintenance and cleaning
  • Assist customers with rentals, account setup, payments, and general inquiries
  • Manage account records, billing, and collections
  • Occasionally support nearby store locations to maintain consistent company standards
  • Using effective sales skills, lease units and sell products to customers. This includes up-selling and promoting best options and value for customers.
  • Follow-up on leads, generated through on-line inquiries, phone calls, and walk-ins.
  • Prepare leases and other documents in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Provide superior customer service through courtesy, professionalism, knowledge of StorageMart products, and familiarity with options available to customers and prospective customers.
  • Collect all monies due to the company; follow-up on delinquencies. This includes collection calls.
  • Apply discounts and fees in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Helps to ensure overall appearance of the site/store by conducting regular walk-throughs, identifying items in need of maintenance and repair.
  • Provide basic maintenance such as sweeping, snow removal, light bulb replacement, trash pick-up, etc. using tools such as brooms, shovels, leaf blowers, etc.
  • Stay current on training, processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Keep Regional Manager informed of any issues at assigned site/store including but not limited to maintenance, safety, pricing, customers, staff, etc.
