About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience-store operations and helps keep the store running smoothly across shifts. The role includes customer service and register work, team leadership, hiring and training, inventory and merchandising, scheduling, cash handling, and maintaining the store and its exterior areas. The Assistant Manager may serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is away. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays; work is primarily on second or third shifts.

Requirements

Open availability, including weekends and holidays, with likely second- or third-shift work.
Valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Ability to perform cleaning and upkeep tasks, including cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficiency in English and basic math skills.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a positive attitude.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store success.
Serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean and welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
Perform daily cash handling and deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
