About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports and consults with the Store Manager on overall store operations and administrative duties, including methods and approaches for meeting store goals. The role requires knowledge of each product area or department, adherence to the policies, procedures, and standards in the visual manual, and a commitment to outstanding customer service and merchandise sales. The Assistant Manager assumes supervisory control when the Store Manager is absent and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities. The position helps oversee store assets, personnel, inventory, sales, expenses, merchandising, and customer service. In the Store Manager’s absence, the Assistant Manager supervises employees and carries out related supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

1–3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.

Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager in controlling company assets.
Consult with the Store Manager on action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Assume responsibility for the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
Assist with personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments as needed.
Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are completed.
Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
Maintain quality customer service and provide extraordinary service, including helping customers as they enter and assisting multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell company services and merchandise.
Perform general administrative duties and learn the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective and reporting potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
In the Store Manager’s absence, interview and train employees, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve problems.
