About The Position

The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, and to act as a representative to Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies. This role involves upholding and administering all theatre policies, training, developing, coaching, and supervising non-management employees, and performing all staff positions as required. The Assistant Manager will operate all projection and audio-visual equipment, including hardware and software, and handle film operations and maintenance. A working knowledge of all systems within the facility, including booth and projection technology, maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and related projection skills is essential. The role also includes monitoring risk management, ensuring guest satisfaction, managing financial transactions (cash, credit cards, coupons, etc.), and ensuring compliance with dress code. The Assistant Manager is expected to have completed or be in the process of completing the management certification program and understand the ROM. Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, suspending, and, with oversight and consultation, terminating employees. Proper administration of HR paperwork and upholding company policies are crucial. Cost control, including direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession/café stock, and inventory management are key. Supervising theatre maintenance, performing minor repairs, and marketing/promotions of feature film engagements, including scheduling show times, are also part of the role. The Assistant Manager must read and understand training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination. Additional duties may be assigned by the General Manager or other senior management.

Requirements

  • At least three months supervisory experience, or 6 months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof, or, after showing potential leadership and/or management skills to theatre management, which is subject to VP approval.
  • If the theatre sells alcohol and assigned duties include selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol according to state or local laws.
  • Must complete any legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate for alcohol sales/service.
  • Must complete the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training on Regal Online University.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Effectively communicate in both oral and written form with employees, vendors, corporate staff, etc.

  • As directed by the General Manager, responsibilities may include interviewing and hiring.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Scheduling of movie show times and timely delivery of show times to all proper channels.
  • Reading and understanding training materials on subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the GM or other senior manager.
